Find your inherently creative side and learn how to paint intuitively in this 2-hour workshop. 

Mark-making can be described as a “gestural language of drawing.” During the class, I will show you how different marks on paper can communicate feeling and movement. Through this exercise, we will practice “loosening up” and to not judge ourselves as we create four small abstract compositions.

In addition to the live Zoom workshop, you’ll receive a recording of the class. This way you’re free to paint along with me or later at your own pace. The materials I will be focusing on are charcoal, ink, and acrylic paint on paper. Practice a little self-care with this paint-a-long workshop!

What is intuitive art?

Intuitive art is a mindful art practice that allows the art to lead the way as images form through the layers of paint and a variety of other media. It does not focus on the results or the final product, but rather puts the focus on the process and the moment.

What else do I need to know?

This class will be 2 hours long and will take place via Zoom conferencing. After registering I will email you a link to click on at the time of the class. I will not be making you present or show your work, so if you want to just watch and paint later on your own time, that is perfectly fine! If you are painting along with me, then you will also need a flat surface and a few art materials at hand.

After registering, I will also send you a list of recommended materials. I have taken care to list items that are either affordable or that you may already have. Following the class, you will receive a link to a recording of the class so you can watch it back and create at your own speed.

This is for all skill levels, you do not need any previous art training. It is geared toward adults a.k.a big kids.
